Troubleshooting Issues with Cisco Phones
If your Cisco phone is displaying "Configuring IP" but never completes configuring or is experiencing other issues, perform the following troubleshooting steps:
- Verify that the network cable connecting the wall jack to the phone is properly connected at both ends. If needed, reconnect the phone cable at both ends.
- Reboot the the phone. Note: Non-VoIP phones cannot be rebooted.
- Disconnect all the cables from the phone. Note the locations of the cables before removing them.
- Wait 30-45 seconds.
- Re-connect all the cables to the phone.
- The phone will take a moment to initialize and reboot.
